Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure what to expect.
My Approach
You don’t need to know exactly where to begin or have everything organized before your first session. We’ll start with what’s bringing you in and build from there.
I’ll ask thoughtful questions, help you connect patterns that may not be obvious yet, and work with you to better understand what’s been keeping you stuck. Along the way, you’ll gain new perspectives and practical ways of approaching the challenges you’re facing.
Some sessions may focus on exploring patterns or difficult experiences that continue to affect your life today. Others may focus on learning practical ways to navigate anxiety and life’s challenges. We’ll choose an approach that fits your goals and adjust as your needs change.
We’ll spend time understanding what you’re hoping will be different and create a plan for getting there. As therapy progresses, we’ll regularly check in about what’s helping, what’s not, and where we want to focus next.
About Me
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood and cared about, but also when there’s a clear sense of where we’re going. My style is warm and collaborative. You can expect me to be actively engaged in our work together—asking questions, sharing observations, helping us stay focused on what you want to change, and offering guidance when I think it can be helpful.
Before entering private practice, I spent nearly a decade providing therapy in a community mental health clinic, working with adults facing a wide range of challenges. That experience taught me that there isn’t one approach that works for everyone. I try to understand the person in front of me, adapt the work to what they need, and make sure we’re regularly checking that therapy is actually moving in a useful direction.
My path to becoming a therapist wasn’t entirely traditional. Before entering the field, I had a background in commercial art. What ultimately drew me to psychotherapy was the opportunity to really get to know people and help them make sense of what’s been keeping them stuck. That continues to be what matters most to me about this work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during the consultation call?
The consultation is a free, 15-minute conversation for us to get to know each other and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
I’ll ask a little about what’s been bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping will be different. I’ll also tell you a bit about how I work, answer any questions you have, and share my initial thoughts about how I think therapy can help based on what you’ve shared.
If we decide we’re a good fit, we’ll talk about the next steps, including scheduling, fees, and insurance.
What is the first session like?
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll spend some time talking about your background, but we’ll also talk about what’s happening in your life right now and what you’re hoping will be different.
My goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of what’s been going on, a sense of where we’re headed, and at least one practical tool or idea that you can take with you after the session.
What if I’ve never been to therapy before or don’t know exactly what I want to work on?
Many people begin therapy knowing that something isn’t working but aren’t sure how to put it into words. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We’ll start where you are and work together to better understand what’s been going on.
Who do you see as clients?
I work with adults (18+) in individual therapy. My practice focuses on helping clients navigate trauma, ADHD, anxiety, and many of the other challenges that can affect day-to-day life.
At this time, I don’t provide couples therapy or therapy for children and adolescents.
Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy.
I meet with clients in person at my office in Millburn, NJ, and I also provide virtual therapy. Some clients choose to meet exclusively in person or virtually, while others prefer a combination of both.
Because I’m licensed in both NJ and NY, I can provide virtual therapy to clients located in either state.
